What We Do

Wild Conductors grow living plant orchestras that can be played by touch. Wander through our jungle of sound and create your own musical composition. Monsteras become kick drums, jade plants sing soprano and the fiddle leaf fig leads the strings.

Using the natural conductivity of the human body, plants are wired up to become touch-sensitive instruments. Run by electronic artist/primary teacher Rosie Wositzky-Jones, Wild Conductors are ready to deliver STEM enriched, play-based events, workshops or activations that appeal to all ages.

How it works

Conduct (wildly)

Touch the plants - make music. Play alone or join fronds with friends. The plants will respond to the human body’s natural conductivity like a smart phone, no additional wiring needed. Bravo!

Getting wired

Inspired by 'Makey Makey' technology, our custom-built circut is both safe to interact with, and designed with soft clips to have minimal impact on the plant. We will set up and be on hand to make sure our plant orchestra is ready for performance.

You can't stop the music

Once the plants become midi controllers the possibilities for sound design are infinite - we will work with you to design the ideal soundscape for your space. Also, our set up can facilitate any sample-based music , primed for collaboration with electronic artists and DJs.

Plant selection

Plants are chosen for their conductivity and willingness to be touched (we'll avoid the cacti for this one!). Potted plants can be provided or we can work to incorporate existing vegetation in your space.

Not interested in plants? We can work with anything conductive such as interactive fruit and vegetable displays!
